Another failed attempt at real time blogging.
I heard on the radio that the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry (created by Claes Oldenburg in 1985) and by all means a defining piece of artwork for Minneapolis (or Minnesota, for that matter) was being installed again after a good cleaning and repainting.

Being the good blogger that I am, I went to the Walker Sculpture Garden during the prescribed time to witness and document this great event.
The photo you see is courtsey of the Walker Art Center. I have a nice 15 second video that I took of the Cherry all wrapped up from shipping, looking like a firecracker. That was all I could get before my battery died, and I left in disgust.
We did return later and saw the new version, all shiny and polished and so bright red that it would make a firetruck blush.
